6th Year Art Trip
As part of their Leaving Cert course, the sixth year art students recently enjoyed a visit to the RHA gallery in Ely Place, Dublin. The RHA is a vibrant, modern gallery space located in the busy shopping district of Baggott and Pembroke street.
The main purpose of our visit was to see the Futures Anthology exhibition - an eclectic mix of work, including sculpture, photography, fibre art, video installation, painting and printmaking. The pieces on display were all created by emerging artists who have recently started exhibiting in Ireland and abroad.
The girls had a great day at the gallery, engaging with the tour guide and discovering all the facets of contemporary art. They made sketches of the art pieces and offered their own interpretations of the work.
At the end of the visit, the tour guide made a point of mentioning the excellent behaviour of the girls, their enthusiasm for the visit and their innovative and intelligent questions. Well done girls, it was a pleasure to visit the gallery with you.
