Transition Year 2017/2018 proudly presented 'The Wizard of Oz' from the 8th to the 10th March. Well done to all involved.
4J Transition year students spent an amazing day on a movie set at Kairos. The girls got the opportunity to make their own television show which they created themselves. They had to first divide up the roles such as graphics, director, actors and producer. Once they had come up with an idea and written a script, the camera people learned how to use the cameras the way they do in Hollywood! It was all very professional, with big lights, headsets to communicate with and even a mini hair and make up department set up by the students! Making the final film took a lot of takes and many laughs and giggles. Students really bonded and showed off their team work and definitely had loads of fun and laughs!
Many thanks to Ms. Kilduff for accompanying the group and to the Kairos team for accommodating us for the day. Definitely an amazing trip!” (by Lucile Desmond 4J)
On Wednesday, 20th September, all Transition Year students along with Ms. Doherty, Ms. Quinn, Mr. Wallace and Mr. Brennan, headed to Tullamore for the National Ploughing Championship. From the minute we stepped off the bus, our wellies were covered in mud. Although most of us were overwhelmed by the amount of stalls and companies that were at the Ploughing, we managed to collect as many freebies as possible. While some wanted to get a photo with Joe Canning and others wanted to go to the fun fair, everyone had a fantastic day out. Many thanks to the Transition Year Business teachers who accompanied us.
