In November, Ms. Humphreys' 3B and 6P religion classes organised a Food Drive for the local branch of the St. Vincent de Paul charity. Each class group in the school was requested, through posters and intercom announcements, to bring a specific food gift, such as a packet of biscuits or a jar of coffee.
The drive was a huge success. Over 20 boxes of food were collected from the school by the charity on Friday, December 4th, 2015. Students from 3B were stationed at the old Lost Property office each morning and lunch-time of the week Nov. 27-Dec.4, so students could hand in their food-gift.
Members of the Student Council, organised by Katie Dempsey and Roisin Sheridan were especially supportive on the final day of the drive, in receiving gifted food from the student body.
A rapid boxing of all the food by 3B, and delivery of it by 6P to a waiting van from 'Vincents' ensured that the drive was successfully completed. Well done and a sincere thanks to everyone who helped and donated!
