Reach for Resilience

Shane Martin launched our campaign on psychological wellbeing “Reach for Resilience” on Tuesday the 17th and Wednesday 18th December 2013. The motto of our campaign is:

reach for resilience photo“It’s okay not to feel ok and it’s okay to ask for help”.

Shane Martin is a psychologist dedicated to teaching the very best self-help psychology to empower people to enhance the quality of their lives. He addressed all students in the school in the course of the two days. His talk was on Health and Happiness. Full details of his talks can be found on his website www.moodwatchers.ie

He addressed Parents on Positive Parenting on Tuesday 17th December at 7.30pm. New scientific research reveals that happiness is a learned skill and that parenting styles and practices have a tremendous effect on children’s emotional outlook on life. By promoting some basic positive traits and harnessing their inner strengths, children can be encouraged to have a more positive view of self, others and the world.
