On Tuesday 16th May, the Green-Schools Committee hosted another green themed event to honour the raising of St. Mary’s FIRSTgreen flag! Ms. Moher, Ms. Humphreys and the Committee worked incredibly hard this school year to change attitudes to recycling in the school environment and their efforts were recognised by An Taisce’s Green-Schools programme.
In attendance on the day was local TD James Lawless, as well as deputy leader of the Green Party, Catherine Martin TD. Support, through attendance, was also received from school stakeholders and members of Naas Tidy Towns. All were treated to a presentation by 5th year students who documented our ‘Climb to the Green Flag’. Sixth year students and Committee leaders Sadie Byrne, Emma Doyle, Chloe O' Connell and Chloe O'Leary raised the flag and encouraged the younger years to keep 'going green'!
Well done to Katie Curran 1D who was photographer on the day.
