On the 18th of January 2017, some St. Mary's students attended the fifth annual Cycle Against Suicide Student Leaders Congress in UL. It was a fantastic day with plenty of memorable experiences to be had. With an early start of 7:30am, the neon orange war paint was applied amidst tired but eager yawns, and within two hours all were seated a few rows from the stage. The theme of this year's congress was "Share the Journey". Music from The Strypes, Orla Gartland and John Daly (to name but a few) created a spirited atmosphere, as well as the dance antics of the Student Leaders! It was a truly enjoyable day, and it really emphasised that,
"It's OK not to feel OK, and it's absolutely OK to ask for help."
Congratulations to all in St. Mary's involved in Cycle against Suicide. St. Mary's has been named an ambassador school for the third year and students Ruan Gormley (Headgirl), Áine Sheehan (Deputy Headgirl), Eimear O'Connor (Chairperson of Wellbeing Committee) and Katie Loughran (Cycle against Suicide Ambassador) attended a presentation in Kilmainham Hospital
