Student Council raises €2,525 at Christmas time
Well done to the Student Council on their tremendous effort in raising funds for St. Vincent de Paul. This year's activities included secret santa chocolates, a raffle for staff and students and a rag day. All members worked really hard in the weeks before Christmas and, as well as their meetings on a Thursday after school, they held extra meetings both before school and at lunch times. Due to their hard work and very generous donations from many businesses in the town, a monster raffle was held with both staff and pupil prizes. The usual chocolate secret santa took place this year also which needed over 700 packages of chocolate santas being wrapped by the student council, 4th years and 1S. A rag day with a christmas theme and christmas music on the intercom finished off the week and all council members were delighted when the final sum collected was announced. A staggering €2,525 was raised in 4 days and with great delight all Student Council members gathered to present the money to our local St. Vincent de Paul. Many thanks to all those involved and well done on all the hard work,
