Meitheal Team – the Meitheal team of 2015-2016 have been busy already with their First years. Meitheal is a Diocesan leadership programme where 12 6th year students mentor First year classes. The Meitheal team of Aoife Mc Garry, Anna Cahill, Caoimhe MacGabhann, Shelley O’ Rourke, Christina Anderson, Isobel Milne, Katie Mernagh, Katie Kelleghan, Jane Rigby, Caitríona Flynn, Grace Kerr and Niamh Bergin attended a leadership training course in Castletown in June and were commissioned by Bishop Denis Nulty as Diocesan leaders. The team, along with visiting their classes at lunch times, organised an activities morning, and table quiz for the First years. Other activities are at the planning stage.
Halloween Midterm break would not be the same without the annual Meitheal First year fancy dress party and games night. This year was no different as ghosts, characters from the Walking Dead, Dorothy (without Toto!!), vampires of all descriptions, the walking wounded in various states of distress and lots more came to enjoy themselves on the Wednesday night before Midterm Break. The Meitheal team themselves were unrecognisable in their outfits and were well prepared with a variety of games and a haunted stage tour to entertain the First Years for two hours, Many thanks to some of the CBS Meitheal team who helped out in the scaring department!!.
The Meitheal Team attended a further training weekend in February. As part of their preparation for this, they had to make a graphic representation of their Meitheal journey both as a team and with their First Years. Below is their Meitheal 'River of Life'
