We had an informative, eye-opening and personal-developing experience during our training week in Castletown. Unforgettable memories and irreplaceable friends were made. Our training made our first day with our first years enjoyable and organised, for both our Meitheal team and, we hope, the first years. The skills and bond we formed with each other will stand with us throughout the whole year, and forever. We are honoured to be included in the Meitheal family and are looking forward to the exciting year ahead.

First Day with new First years

On the first day of school, we met the first years for the first time bright and early. Trough ice breakers and bonding games, we made the girls familiar with both the meitheal team and the school. We split the girls into their classes where they began to settle in.

September came and went. By the end of the month, the girls had grown closer together as a year group, and the Meitheal leaders grew closer to their classes through the lunchtime visits. To further the bonding, we mixed up the classes to make teams for our September table quiz, which was a resounding success.

We look forward every week to meeting the girls on Thursdays at lunchtime, and are excited about the year to come.

Hallowe'en Fancy Dress Party

For many years now, Meitheal leaders have organised a fancy dress Hallowe'en party for their first years. This year's first years took the opportunity to do themselves proud as witches, goolies, disney characters, Harry Potter and friends all made their way to the assembly hall. With the help of the CBS Meitheal team, great excitement and spookiness was created for all pupils.

Meitheal at Christmas

On Monday the 18th of December, the Meitheal leaders surprised the first year students with a Christmas Party. The girls made Christmas cards with some tasty treats and festive tunes. All enjoyed the experience.

 First year Disco

The Meitheal teams of St. Mary's and the CBS joined forces in January to organised a very successful First year disco.
Great fun was had by all and a surprise visit by Seán and Conor Price, of X Factor fame, ensured a memorable night for everyone.
