Ethos Report Sept 2015

RE Dept. met Fri., Aug. 28th and Wed., Sept 2nd, to organise books, discuss plans for the year ahead, collaborate with teachers of different year groups.

'Jobs' were assigned to everyone in the dept. re Mercy Day mass, on Wed., Sept 23rd this year. Fr. Liam will celebrate the mass at 2.45pm that day (is unable to be with us in the 24th). The music dept., as always, will give us their full support with music to enhance our celebration.

We updated our Faith Development plan for the year (Ms.  Humphreys and Ms. Woods). We will endeavour to maintain as many of the faith initiatives as possible, from last year, into the new school year.

Fr. Liam has visited us on two occasions to date and we look forward to working closely with him in the year ahead.

All our first years will be brought to our prayer room, by their religion teachers, and told about our first class relic of Padre Pio. Their attention will be drawn to the saying, 'Pray, hope and don't worry'.

The altar to Our lady, ethos notice board, outdoor shrine and prayer room are being attended to by our John Paul II award students, under the care of Ms. Woods

October as the month of the Holy Rosary will be focused on shortly. Friday prayers will begin again in the prayer room at break-time and an invitation to place intentions in a prayer-box will be issued to all students.
