Green Schools Committee

This year, St. Mary's College set up a Green School's committee, with an aim to reducing litter pollution around the school. green schools 1This committee is made up of Student Council members and other interested pupils in the school. So far the committee has been extremely successful and the difference is already noticeable. green schools 2Projects to date include; a survey of students in each year group, organisation of weekly litter-picking, litter awareness poster competition, and we're only just getting started! The committee meet once a week to discuss issues related to waste management in the school. It is the aim of the committee that the school will be presented with its first Green Flag in the 2014/15 academic year.
