Newgrange 2014

On our first day back in the New Year, 4F accompanied by Mr. Dillion and Mr. Maguire travelled to Meath to visit the ancient and famous site of Newgrange. new5The class were given the opportunity to explore the inside of the historical passage tomb of the Boyne Valley and learn more about it in the museum on the site.new2 It was an extremely windy and wet day but the tomb lived it up to the story and not a drop of water entered Newgrange. We walked around the site and the sun came out long enough for us to enjoy the beautiful view of the Boyne River.new6 As we finished early we were lucky to visit Liffey Valley shopping centre as a treat and had some lunch there. It was an enjoyable and interesting day and I think we all learned a lot.(Christina Anderson)

Sleepy-headed teenagers filled up three buses which departed the school at 6.10am, all bound for Dublin port.
