Harvest Festival- 24/10

The Harvest Festival was a highly anticipated event for all the T.Y students and their religion teachers and after weeks of preparation the day finally came around on the 24th of October. The Assembly hall was unrecognisable with scarecrows crafted by the girls everywhere to be seen and a beautiful centre piece with leaves, plants and silk, lit by candles.

The walls were decorated with an Autumn themed mural for each class and there was an atmosphere of excitement in the air. In the morning we began with prayers and watched one TY class do a traditional harvest dance. Another group recited and mimed the poem ‘Autumn’ and another group quite comically acted out some harvest traditions, complete in traditional dress. Every class had their part to play in the running of the day. In the afternoon we all took part in some Halloween themed games, popping balloons and the mad scientist, to name a few. It was the perfect way to end the week and head into our Midterm break. Many thanks to all our teachers for such an enjoyable experience
