All Ireland Badminton Success

Well done and congratulations to Orla Flynn, Kerry Fallon, Megan McLoughlin and Shona O'Sullivan who gave an exhibition of badminton, showing their class and determination to retain the All-Ireland u16 A Title in Gormanstown on 21st March. The girls were outstanding, beating Hunter House (Belfast) 5 games to 1 and St Mary's (Nenagh) 4 games to 2.
Congratulations also to Orla, Megan and Kerry, who have been selected for the U17 Irish Badminton Team. All in St. Mary's wish them every success in their upcoming international matches.

The U14A team also played very well on the day, coming runners up in the All Ireland Final to Royal and Prior (Donegal). After winning three games and losing three games, the girls were very unfortunate in the end to lose by only 7 aces. Well done to Neasa Flynn, Yen Lin Yip, Amy Lewis and Lucy Johnston.

Well done to Sorcha Flynn, Clodagh Cagney, Fiona Hughes and Sophie Mullins who came third in the u19A All-Ireland final losing to a very strong Hunter House (Belfast) and St Anne's (Killaloe). The girls gave it their all in the second game and did St. Mary's proud in their last games representing the school.

Well done to the group of faithful students who travelled to Gormanstown to support the teams. Congratulations and many thanks to Ms. Hughes and Ms. Quinn for their commitment to all teams.
