Well done to St. Mary's Transition Year students, Sarah Fleming, Laura Rooney, Linda McDonald, Sarah Rowland and Lucy O'Reilly, who presented their projects, 'How do different brands of Cola affect the calcium level of bones' and 'Observing the antibacterial effects of processed honey in comparison to raw honey', at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition in the RDS last week. Many thanks to their teachers Ms. Hennessy, Ms. Gallagher and Ms. Halpin, for all their help and encouragement.

St. Mary's Lighthouse leaders have organised a Random Acts of Kindness week during which all are encouraged to help each other out and show kindness by word or action during the week. The week started with celebrating Human Rights Day which is observed by the international community every year on 10 December. It commemorates the day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
57 students from the 6th year class of 2017-18 received Academic Achievement awards. Our Mercy ethos fosters a spirit of inclusivity and, accordingly, we acknowledged academic achievement at all levels. All 57 girls have displayed excellence of endeavour, tenacity and dedication. They are to be highly commended for the example they have set for our current students. They are a credit to themselves, our school and to their parents. Many have exceeded their expectations while some have overcome educational challenges to reach their full potential. 27.5% of our students achieved 500 points or more in their Leaving Certificate exam. This is over twice the national average. Over 80% of our students achieve 300 points or more. This is an outstanding achievement of which we can all be very proud. Click here to view all recipients
