Congratulations from all in St. Mary's to Máire Coghlan, Sorcha Daly, Alana Lacy and Isabelle O'Dwyer, and their teacher, Ms. Hennessy, who competed in the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition in the RDS last week. St. Mary's first years also attended the exhibition on Friday 12th.
The Parents' Council organised a cake sale and Christmas hamper raffle on Sunday 3rd December after 11am and 6pm masses. Thanks to all parents and students who baked cakes, cupcakes and delicious breads. Transition year and 3rd students provided great Christmas cheer with Christmas carols being sung during the sale. All in all a great success, raising over €1,700 in funds to upgrade student canteen facilities.
Well done to all pupils who contributed food to St. Mary's annual 'Food Drive'. Food items were collected from all classes during the week and, with tremendous work by Ms. O Humphreys and her diligent helpers, food boxes, collected by members of St. Vincent dePaul on Friday 8th December, will be distributed in hampers to families in Naas before Christmas.
Congratulations to students from St. Mary’s College who sat their Leaving Certificate in June 2017 and were awarded Entrance Scholarships in Third Level Colleges this year:- Click here to view recipients
Congratulations to St Mary's senior debating team who won the Co. Kildare Rigby Jones Debating Competition for the third year in a row. Our girls were opposing the motion 'That our country would welcome a visit from President Donald Trump'. Each team member debated with an excellent blend of humour and well researched points. It was a thoroughly enjoyable debate for the large audience that attended . The team members are Captain, Mia Sherry, Bonnie O' Halloran, Cerys Walsh and Jessica Allen. Well done to the team and to Mr. Dillon and Ms. Cuddy for all their help and support.
