On our first day back in the New Year, 4F accompanied by Mr. Dillion and Mr. Maguire travelled to Meath to visit the ancient and famous site of Newgrange. The class were given the opportunity to explore the inside of the historical passage tomb of the Boyne Valley and learn more about it in the museum on the site. It was an extremely windy and wet day but the tomb lived it up to the story and not a drop of water entered Newgrange. We walked around the site and the sun came out long enough for us to enjoy the beautiful view of the Boyne River. As we finished early we were lucky to visit Liffey Valley shopping centre as a treat and had some lunch there. It was an enjoyable and interesting day and I think we all learned a lot.(Christina Anderson)
