From Jan 21st to 25th ‘Mind My Health Week’ was promoted in St Mary’s. Wellbeing comes from physical, mental and emotional health. It’s about having positive emotions, taking part in different activities, having good relationships and social connections, finding meaning in life and feeling that you’re doing well. The class group 5J are organising lots of fun outdoor activities every lunchtime this week. Skipping, hopscotch, bowls and walks are some of the games they are organising. Activities will take place during lunch (1:30-1:50pm) on the basketball court. Fingers crossed the weather stays fine!!!. Two first groups (1k and 1B) have put together a colourful display of advice and tips to improve our wellbeing. Enjoy reading it and we hope it encourages everyone to take action. Many thanks to Ms Curry and Ms. O Humphreys for all their help and support.
Well done to St. Mary's Transition Year students, Sarah Fleming, Laura Rooney, Linda McDonald, Sarah Rowland and Lucy O'Reilly, who presented their projects, 'How do different brands of Cola affect the calcium level of bones' and 'Observing the antibacterial effects of processed honey in comparison to raw honey', at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition in the RDS last week. Many thanks to their teachers Ms. Hennessy, Ms. Gallagher and Ms. Halpin, for all their help and encouragement.
