Ethos in St. Mary's - September 2016

*mercy cross In preparation for Mercy Day, Ms M. Humphreys decorated the school's entrance area. Prayers were read over the intercom each Monday in September. Fr. Liam Morgan celebrated Mercy Day, and the school's 80th anniversary, on Sept. 20th. Led by Mr. Lanigan and  Ms.  Mannion, the school's choir and musicians  greatly enhanced the mass.
*RE classes  focused on the Rosary and mission awareness in OctoberMs. O'Callaghan organised the sale of rosary bracelets to all first and second years, through their RE teachers.rosary beads Fr. Liam Morgan is going to bless the rosaries just after mid-term.
*John Paul II Scout badge Ms. M. and Ms. O. Humphreys invited Cathriona Kelly to inform all TY students about the John Paul II awards, on Oct. 5th. Four 5th years spoke enthusiastically about the awards; Andrina Faherty, Eimear Ryan, Aoibhin Fitzsimons and Jennifer Carroll. 
All TYs went on retreat to Emmaus, Co. Dublin in mid-October. Their Harvest Festival was celebrated just before mid-term, on Wednesday, October 26th. 
*Meditation in the prayer room, led by Ms. O'Callaghan, is taking place on Thursdays, as part of the well-being programme. The sixth year retreat, due to take place on Oct. 25th., was postponed until a later date in the year.
